In a recent interview held with director Kim Byung Woo, he revealed his honest thoughts about the background of casting BLACKPINK’s Jisoo in the movie, Omniscient Reader: The Prophet (also known as Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint).

In the film, Jisoo plays the role of Lee Ji Hye, a high school student who follows Yoo Jung Hyeok and calls him master. This character is a powerful fighter with Admiral Yi Sun Sin as her constellation, who believes “each person’s survival is the simplest and fairest path.”

Regarding casting Jisoo for the role, he stated, “The timing of her appearance in the film is late.” He explained that structural limitations made it inevitable for her to appear later in the movie, even though her character had a significant role in the original work.
